Dear SCP Customer:
On March 20 we sent out the following bulletin about the necessity to
increase prices on some items due to increased cost of materials in the
world market and the lower exchange rate for the U.S. dollar. These
price increases have now been implemented and amount to about a 4%
increase . We also took this opportunity to reduce some prices where we
have paid tooling or were able to obtain better prices because of
quantity discounts as the result of much higher sales volume.
Because we are not increasing all prices, we will publish a bulletin to
the first page of our web site showing exactly which parts have
increased in price.
Sincerely,
Myron McGuirt
PRICE BULLETIN
During the past few months we have been absorbing many price increases
from our manufacturers for quite a few of our parts and we greatly
regret that it will result in increases to our customers for some
products. Some increases were minor and will not result in higher cost
for you.
The highest price increase will be for our popular replacements for the
15HP 6D motors. Three factors caused prices to go up for these parts,
increases in cost for copper, steel and the U.S. dollar losing value in
the international market. Our prices will increase approximately $30 to
$40. Exact increase has not as yet been determined but once we know, the
increased price will be reflected on our web site at
www.servicecompressorparts.com.
This is not a general, across the board, price increase for all of our
parts. At the present time some pistons will be slightly increased due
to escalating prices for aluminum, but we have had no increases from our
connecting rod manufacturer. With iron costs increasing there will be
some increases on valve plates and other ductile iron products.
With the excellent reception our parts have received in our market, we
often are able to secure better prices from our manufacturers as you
will soon see for crankshafts for most of the 5F and 5H crankshafts.
Prices for the most popular models will decrease 20% to 35%. You should
see these decreases around mid June. Our policy in the past has been to
reduce prices when we have amortized our tooling costs for new products
and this policy will remain in effect.
Please refer to our web site for any changes in prices as all prices
increase will not be made at one time as we will phase in the new prices
as we deplete our existing inventory we purchased at the lower prices.
Sincerely,
Myron McGuirt
